Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Carnforth. Our website is a small snapshot of what we do. At Carnforth we talk about our Carnforth Community. We are a one form entry, primary school with our own on site Pre-School taking children from 3 to 11 years. At Carnforth we pride ourselves on building strong relationships with a deep understanding of child development and making the first year of primary the very best it can be. We base our curriculum and pedagogy around developing children as the whole person they are. Primary school should build the very best foundations for children as they begin their journey into education and build upon their understanding of self and their place and impact on the world around them. Our school environment is engaging, purposeful and welcoming. We host an environmental garden, Early Years garden, a large playground and playing field.

We are proud to be part of the Black Pear Trust. The school converted to academy status on 1st August 2017. We are also pleased to be part of the Black Pear Teaching alliance.

As a school we are committed to strive for excellence in learning. We built our school vision around what we do, what we strive to achieve and what we believe in.

The Carnforth Vision:

The careful design of our curriculum is crafted to meet the individual needs of our children, create a sense of adventure, develop transferable skills, acquire knowledge and foster excellence in learning. Our shared belief that learning creates opportunities drives us to create a curriculum which engages and encourages learning as a way of life.

Free Breakfast Club - Please register your interest!

Our school has been successful in our recent application to join the free breakfast club programme. Schools across the country are being funded by the Government to provide access to a free, universal breakfast club for all primary-age pupils, from Reception to Year 6.

From the first day of the Summer term  2026, we will be delivering a free universal breakfast club.

Our free breakfast club will run from 8am from our school hall.

We would like you to fill out a questionnaire to help us find out your views about your child or children attending the free breakfast club.

Please note that parents and carers should fill out one form per child at the school.

Please fill out the questionnaire by the end of Thursday 25th March to allow us to begin planning.

We will be in touch shortly after this to provide an update on how you can book your child/children in to attend.

Through our broad and rich curriculum, we aim to ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. We have high expectations for our children and firmly believe that all of our children can flourish within our nurturing environment. We view all of our children as individuals and recognise and help develop their strengths and interests.

Education is a partnership between home and school and we regard you as an active partner in your child’s education. We value your interest and support.

If you would like to know more about us or join our community please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
